How difficult is the hike up Monkey Mountain?
The hike up Monkey Mountain is considered moderate, but it does require a decent level of fitness. We recommend that participants have some hiking experience before attempting this trek.

Is the hike suitable for children?
We generally recommend that children be at least 12 years old to participate in the hike up Monkey Mountain. However, younger children who have experienced hikes and are in good physical condition may be able to participate with the approval of their parents or guardian.

What should I wear for the hike?
We recommend wearing comfortable, lightweight clothing that you can move easily in. Closed-toe shoes with good grip are essential, and we also recommend wearing a hat and sunscreen.

What should I bring with me on the hike?
Sports shoes or hiking shoes, 1 liter/32oz water bottle per person., sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat.
A small backpack to carry the essentials.

Do you provide snacks or water?
Yes, we provide 12 oz coconut water or regular water, along with snacks once we reach the top of the mountain. We want to ensure you're refreshed and energized to enjoy the breathtaking views.

Can I book a private hike?
Yes, all of our hikes are private, meaning you and your group will have the guide and the experience all to yourselves. This ensures a more personalized adventure tailored to your preferences.

Is transportation included in the tour?
Yes, round-trip transportation from Sayulita to the head trail is included in the tour. We'll pick you up and drop you off for a hassle-free experience.

What time do hikes typically start?
Our tours usually begin at 8:00 am at the designated meeting point. We prefer starting early to avoid the crowds and the midday heat.
For sunset tours (Not always available), the start time will depend on the time of year and the sunset schedule.
You will be informed of the exact time before booking to ensure you’re well-prepared. -
What happens if I arrive late?
We allow a 15-minute grace period for late arrivals. After that, it will be considered a no-show, and our cancellation policy will apply.
Please note that if you're staying in towns north of Sayulita, time zone differences may cause confusion, and we cannot be held responsible for this.

There are no restrooms available along the trail, so we recommend using the facilities before you start the hike.

Is there a guide on the hike?
Yes, all of our hikes up Monkey Mountain are led by experienced guides who are familiar with the trail and the area.

How long does the hike take?
The entire experience, from meeting at the designated point in Sayulita, driving to the trailhead, hiking up Monkey Mountain, enjoying the breathtaking views at the top, descending back to the trailhead, and returning to Sayulita, takes approximately 3 to 4 hours.
The hike itself typically lasts around 1 hour uphill, 20-30 minutes at the summit, and 1 hour downhill, totaling about 2.5 to 3 hours of hiking.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my hike?
If the weather is bad on the day of your hike, we prioritize the safety of our customers and may need to reschedule your tour to another available date depending on availability. Please note that no refund will be made due to weather conditions. The rainy season typically falls between July and October, so we recommend checking the weather forecast beforehand to avoid any inconvenience.

No, there is no designated swimming area on this hike. However, the views and nature make it an unforgettable experience on their own!
